My daughter has attended CCC for 4 years…As we branched out and looked at other opportunities for Kindergarten..we discovered that everything we wanted was already here. Writing, science, art and math…all waiting to be discovered. No other school has the opportunites to make the impossible possible. This is a place where voices of children and parents are heard. Children are viewed as competent..and it is the schools job to provide experience and materials to help the children flourish..no other school offers such wonderful peer relationship building..working with each other to study any possible subject….from nature happening outside in the playground…to a wondering about how something is made…it inspires children and parents to be lifelong learners and contributors…if you are looking for a positive community for yourself and your child…this is it…all you have to do is be involved….every parent completes a support job and parents parent help in the classroom….I believe this to be a comment on the ability of parents and the belief that we all have value to contribute as well as demonstrating to the children that this is a place to value….Every possible avenue of play is explored..dramatic, literature, science, math, art, sensory, nature….you imagine it…it is here.”

“I love working here! After many years in the field of education, I have seen many programs. Good schools, bad schools, and a few incredible schools. Yet through it all, the best are few and far between. Regardless of a school’s image, if you peal back the rind, you will find the juice of the program. A. Does the school respect the child as an active participant? Do the teachers see the child as the protagonist of his or of her own learning? B. Are the environments designed to be interactive and adaptive to the needs of the children? Are the classrooms engaging? Are the students comfortable and content “to be” a part of the community? C. Are social problems and academic challenges faced with a “can do” attitude? Does everything have a solution, or even better, a multitude of possibilities? D. Is learning about searching for meaning, as we seek to understand, looking for the answers to life’s questions? It is not that they propose to have all the answers, but rather that they propose to care deeply about the questions. This in turn inspires the children to believe that the “impossible”, is POSSIBLE. That the world is a place of beauty, with ups and down, highs and lows, always changing and encouraging us to change and grow with it. “Creative Children’s Center offers wonderful preschool and kindergarten programs for ages 2 to 6. They are very respectful of all children and are inspired by constructivist philosophies and Reggio Amelia. We have been there for two years and have been very impressed with the level of dedication from the families and teachers. CCC is a coop school in which parents engage in the learning process along with their children. Parents can also choose to buy out of the parent help requirement if needed. The tuition is kept pretty low due to the development activities that all families participate in. This is a great community to get involved with.”

“I am so glad that I found this school! My daughter began the program when she was three and just finished the kindergarten. The first year I knew she was loving school and coming home with loads of art and smiles. When she was four her ideas took flight. The teachers at CCC hold higher education degrees and all know how to support the individual child as well as the group. That year they developed a project on birds complete with a clay bird house and a giant nest outside! In kindergarten the teachers kept the creativity going while teaching her to read and to write in her own journal. The math program was excellent! The class was advanced academically, while maintaining it’s creative spark with loads of art, music, science and construction. I have no doubt she and the other children will sail into first grade. I love how the school involves the parents in decisions. Over the years we have influenced improving the foundation for nutrition and physical exercise.”

“Just wanted to share some information about Creative Children’s Center in Beaverton. My son has been going there since he turned 2 and we love the school. CCC is Oregon’s largest parent-child cooperative preschool and Kindergarten. They actually have programs from 2 to 6 years of age. I love being a part of my son’s school experience and my husband actually parent helps once a month, so he gets to have his own special time with my son at school. It’s been fantastic seeing my son become an independent child. He loves school and wants to go everyday! They also have great weekly summer camps available for 3-10 year olds.”
